This project is an attempt by SGA Design on a fusion of Western and Chinese styles.
The client requested a “French exterior with a Chinese-style backyard” in the design.
To achieve a French provincial building with a Chinese garden atmosphere, we enclosed the main living spaces, fitness and entertainment areas, and corridors to create a large central courtyard. Each indoor living space is accompanied by its own outdoor area: a BBQ terrace outside the dining hall, and a pavilion outside the gym. They are arranged in a staggered manner, complementing each other, separated by water features and gardens.
A water feature runs through a small bridge under the terrace, forming cascading waterfalls that lead to a sunken courtyard on the lower level, which serves as a bar and entertainment area. This creates an intertwining green area that spans two levels. Varied and rich scenery can be appreciated from different indoor areas.
The entire house includes 8 living spaces, 6 bedroom suites, as well as amenities such as a home theatre, sunken courtyard, 6-car garage, and indoor swimming pool.
